Lund ImmunoTalks Symposium 2025: Immunity for a Lifetime
A Celebration of Immunology, Community, and Life!

On May 14–15, 2025, Forum Medicum at Lund University was buzzing with energy as the second annual Lund ImmunoTalks Symposium brought together brilliant minds from seven leading research institutions and attendees from four different LU faculties for two days packed with discovery, exchange, and reflection.
From infancy to aging, the symposium embodied exhilarating science and community spirit. Attendees enjoyed thought-provoking talks on everything from maternal immunity to atherosclerosis and anti-tumor immune responses. With speakers flying in from all over Europe and the US, the event helped put Lund on the global immunology map.
Trainees had the chance to lunch with the experts, and the poster session—complete with snacks and drinks—sparked lively exchanges and valuable feedback. This year we had the honor to host a super inspiring academic career workshop with professor Adrian Liston for the trainees only! Check out this website for more wisdom for all career stages!
Special thanks to everyone who made this symposium a success—especially our organizing committee, sponsors, and every single participant who brought their attention, their curiosity and their enthusiasm. Together, we proved that Immunology is a great uniter among researchers in Lund and between us and the outside world.
Here’s to another year of presentations, fika, and keeping our immune systems—and our spirits—strong!

The Lund ImmunoTalks Inaugural Symposium brought together a vibrant community of experts and enthusiasts to explore innovative paths for enhancing immunology research. Held on May 22, 2024, at Forum Medicum, the event featured cutting-edge research presentations and engaging discussions aimed at accelerating progress in immunology. Keynote speakers included Gabriel Victora from Rockefeller University, Camilla Engblom from Karolinska Institute, Hocine W. Mankouri from Novo Nordisk Foundation, and John Tsang from Yale University. Their talks spanned a range of topics, including germinal center evolution, clonal dynamics in tissues, determinants of immune set points and efforts to accelerate vaccine development. The symposium offered deep insights into both existing and emerging immunological approaches. Additionally, it provided unique opportunities for trainees to interact with these experts over lunch and to showcase their own research through poster presentations. Organized by the collaborative efforts of the LIT community and supported by the Lund University Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund Stem Cell Center, Miltenyi Biotech, The Swedish Society for Immunology, and Asgard Therapeutics, the symposium was a resounding success. The organizing committee—comprising Joan Yuan, Camila Consiglio, Madelene Dahlgren, Elena Boldrin, and Sarah Richtmann—ensured a stimulating and inclusive environment that fostered meaningful exchanges and laid the groundwork for future advancements in the field of immunology. Many thanks to all who participated!
